1 Cordon
The tasselled lace or string of a mantle; also the broad ribbon of knights of the first class of an order. The grand cordon of the principal French order, that of the Saint Esprit, is light blue. It is applied in common parlance also to a first rate chef de caisine, and generally to persons who have obtained the reputation of excelling in their respective arts.
